Building in public: the first venture log
Notes on what I'm working on and how I'm thinking about it.
This is where I'll keep a running log of the things I'm building — the decisions, the dead ends, and the occasional win.
What a venture log is for
A venture log isn't a pitch deck. It's a workbench. The goal is to capture thinking as it happens so that future-me (and anyone curious) can see how a project actually evolved, not the cleaned-up story told afterward.
A few things I want to track here:
- The problem — what I believe is broken and worth fixing.
- The bet — the specific approach I'm taking and why.
- The evidence — what I'm learning that confirms or kills the idea.
The honest part
Most ventures don't work, and the ones that do rarely look like the original plan. Writing it down keeps me honest about which is which.
If you're building something too, I'd love to compare notes.
